| | | Internships All full-time students are obliged to take at least 2-weeks of practical compulsory training, which they can organise on their own according to their personal needs and interests, though they have to take into consideration their selected specialisation, or they can choose form the list of offers prepared by the School.
WSUS cooperates with numerous institutions and companies. The School offers their students various types of internships, which of course, depend on students’ mode and field of studies.
Each year one of the most favourite options selected by our students is training offered by the Civil Service institutions: students that are interested in issues related to creating social relations eagerly apply to the City Council of Poznan, where different firms can select properly-profiled students who will work as trainees up to a month-long period. On the other hand those who are interested in management and marketing can take their internships at the Poznan International Fairs, ltd., or at managerial departments of selected cultural institutes.
The Poznan School of Social Science is profiled to educate mostly for the cultural market, that’s why students are made acquainted mainly with issues related to the effective management of cultural institutions. Taking that into consideration, the School offers its internships in this particular sort of institutions (with whom it closely cooperates). One among the others are: the A. Mickiewicz University Library, the Kornik Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Raczynski Library in Poznan).
For those who study at the Faculty of Journalism and Social Communications the School organises practical training closely related to their field of studies. Students can, in reality, experience how a day in the life of a journalist looks and how the work in the media is organised. WSUS cooperates with the following local newspapers: Gazeta Poznanska Echo Dopiewa and Panorama Leszczynska; with the following local TV stations: WTK and TVP3; and with such radio stations as: Afera, Merkury, Eska Rock and RMI-FM.
For students specialising in editing the School has prepared their internships at the following places: Kruszona Publishing House, ltd; St. Wojciech Printing Office and Bookstore, ltd (DiKSW); Kurpisz Publishing House, plc; and Pallottinum Publishing House in Poznan; ‘Forum’ publication office ‘Sieć Polska’, the internet company and Albertus, the internet bookstore. The internship list is constantly developed: new and interesting offers are added. WSUS organises internships for their students as they are an excellent opportunity enabling our students not only to find a better job in future but also to show their potential employers that they have already gained some work experience and at the same time get a vital head start on the job market.
